iOS5 facial recognition?

PDFPrintE-mail

Written by Susan Williamson Wednesday, 27 July 2011 19:53

How cool would it be to have facial recognition software on your phone? According to reports, iOS5 owners may well have just that. Sadly, we're not talking about eye scanner type stuff but still - it's pretty neat. Have a look at the video for a taster of what it may be like.

If you're thinking of starting your own business(or have already done so), it can be tricky trying to decide which apps and programs to use for time management, web design, invoicing and everything else that comes with the territory. I, for one, was certainly happy to see this list of the most popular options. Ok, so the most popular won't necessarily be best for everyone, but it's a good starting point at least.

Owners of a jailbroken iPad who made a few tweaks to the iPhone Facebook app will have accessed a "secret" iPad Facebook app. Why secret? Well, Zuckerburg said it wasn't going to happen due to the iPad not being mobile enough to merit it's own version of the app. Facebook have now removed the content but it can still be viewed here, along with more information. Do you think it will be back?

Apple to take over Hulu?

PDFPrintE-mail

Last Updated on Friday, 22 July 2011 19:56 Written by Susan Williamson Friday, 22 July 2011 19:50

Since word got out that Hulu were open to buyers, there has been plenty of speculation about who would step up to the mark. Amazon, Netflix, Microsoft and Yahoo were amongst the names mentioned but one more huge name has come out today - Apple. Bloomberg reports suggest that Apple are indeed in talks to buy out the streaming service. The $2 billion pricetag is a lot higher than Apple tends to spend on takeovers but, given that the purchase would put a product belonging to them on the Xbox, PS3 and Android devices, it's not inconceivable that the purse-strings might be loosened somewhat. More information can be found here.

Written by Susan Williamson Thursday, 21 July 2011 13:12

Space travel features in the dreams of many a small child and probably quite a few adults too. Sadly, any dreams of becoming an astronaut have come to an end today, with the last NASA Space Shuttle mission coming to an end. The program is now over, there will be no more astronauts but the videos and photos taken are still pretty amazing. Have a look at this video to watch the final landing for yourself.
