Dear contestants, this are the rules for submission of your artwork.

First of all, once you are happy with the result you obtained, go to Image> Image size. Set Width 800 pixel if your artwork is horizontal. Set height 800 pixel if your artwork is vertical.

Then go to File> Save for web and devices. Click the mode 2-up on the top, then select JPEG as saving format on the right hand side. Set either quality preset High, or choose 60% (they are exactly the same thing).

If you are familiar with ICC color profiles, I would encourage you to assign Apple RGB and embed the profile in the file

Note that your file now is very small and ready to be submitted. Send it as attachment to info at creativecrew.com.sg . The subject of your email have to be Centaur>YOUR NAME.

The first editon of Face Off -Ace of Photoshop has been won by Mr. Nazri! In the semifinal, Nazri created a funny composition of a bear waiting on an armchair to cross the street. He used a lot of adjustment layers and blending modes. The outline of the shapes maybe wasn’t the most accurate, but we cannot blame Nazri, since he had just 20 minutes to finish his art piece!
In the final stage Nazri was facing Nicky, who tried to impress the jury and the audience with a 100% digital paint. Bad for him, the judges seem didn’t appreciate the fact he haven’t used any of the provided pictures. Good for Nazri, who with a “cut and blend work” won by 7 votes!
Check out Nazri’s smile while is receiving the first prize from my hands. Isn’t he the Happiest Man in Singapore! Of course he is… He’s receving a prize of about 4000$ worth! An Adobe Master Collection. Thanks indeed Adobe Singapore for supporting the event.
During the event was officially launched the Creative Crew as official Singapore User Group for Photoshop and After Effects. Mr. Hong Eng Khim won the lucky draw. The prize was the outstanding book Layers, by Matt Kloskowski.

Rules

The competition will be held in two stages. Two Semi final rounds and one final round. Each round last 20 minutes. Two contestants will be provided with a computer equipped with Photoshop CS3 application and a set of image files. Both contestants wil receive identical image files.

The objective is to turn the images provided into a creative piece using Photoshop CS3. The contestants can do whatever they please within the bounds of the software.

1. Contestants can only use the files provided. They will NOT be allowed to import any material of their own.
2. Contestants can only use the Photoshop CS3 application and the computer provided.
3. Contestants will create his piece on his own without an interference from anyone else.
4. Contestants will only be given 20 minutes. If the contestant cannot complete his piece in 20 minutes, the contestant will be judge on whatever he has completed thus far.
5. Each round will be judge by the audience by the means of voting by text messaging.
6. The winners of the 2 semi-final round will proceed onto the finals. There will be no 3rd/4th placing.
